Autoresponders are an essential ingredient for successful marketing.
They do what their name suggests: they automatically send out e-mail messages to your customers or potential customers about things like newsletter sign-ups, promotions, order confirmations, etc.
I won’t go into detail about why autoresponders are incredibly vital for online business success, their cool features, or how to set them up. The resources I share below will give you great information about all of that, including online video tutorials.
The Top 2 Autoresponders
Are Fast, Versatile & Affordable
Both options are good for beginners and pros alike. Top dog marketers sometimes move on to fancier, ultra-expensive solutions (that can cost thousands of dollars a month!), but there’s no need to jump to that level when you’re a beginner. In fact, many pros happily stick with one of the top 2 choices longterm because they perform so well.
And the Top 2 Choices Are?
After hours & hours of research reading reviews, online message boards, including The Warrior Forum (a hot hub for big name marketers), asking pros like Kevin Wilke and James Schramko & reviewing from a customer point of view, I offer you my findings about the top 2 autoresponders to consider:
A classic choice with a great track record. It usually gets more thumbs-up than the choice below but that may partly be because it has been around longer.
A bit less easy to configure than AWeber, but it has a few more options with it’s latest version including audio and video.
With both options, signing up for a 6-month or yearly plan is cheaper than month-to-month. Do what is right for your budget and comfort level. I’m going for the yearly because I LOVE to save money when I can.
Which one did I choose? I signed up for Aweber initially. I could cancel my credit card payment within 30 days if I wasn’t satisfied so I gave it a go. It’s easy to set up, that’s for sure. Customer service seems great too.
BUT I switched to GetResponse because:
- I like the look of the e-mails/confirmations I get from GetResponse more.
- GetResponse seems to deliver things faster than Aweber. About 1/3 faster, I’d say.
- Aweber has fussier terms of service. Nothing awful, but this is a common complaint.
- GetResponse has more features, like audio and video.
But please conduct your own research. Check out the links & make the right choice for your current needs.
I’d love to know what your experiences are with autoresponders. I’ll update you about mine as time goes on.
